The paper discusses two contactless methods for determining temperature fields in boiling heat transfer investigations in minichannel flow, namely: liquid crystal thermography and thermovision. Liquid crystal thermography was used to identify temperature distribution on the minichannel heating surface, which made it possible to determine boiling incipience. A thermovision camera recorded temperature distribution on the glass (insulation) covering the heating surface, which prevented losses to the environment. Exemplary results obtained with two measurement techniques were included.
