The study shown in the paper concerns different aspects of car recycling in Poland. The general description of this initial study on car recycling scenarios and their environmental consequences is presented. Scenarios are characterized in detail to define changes in the number of cars recycled in Poland in the future. The LCA method and Ecoindicator 99 procedure are used to evaluate environmental aspects of the recycling processes. The main environmental impacts are classified in three general categories: human health, ecosystem quality and resources. Obtained results illustrate the scale of environmental impacts coming from car recycling.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań nad możliwościami utylizacji (recyklingu) samochodów w Polsce. Zaprezentowano i przeanalizowano warianty zagospodarowania samochodów wycofanych z eksploatacji (SWE). W badaniach wykorzystano metodę środowiskowej oceny cyklu istnienia produktu LCA (Life Cycle Assessment). Uzyskane wyniki pokazują skalę środowiskowych konsekwencji wycofania samochodów z eksploatacji.
