The paper describes some important issues concerning the growing European TCT certificate market, its challenges and threats in the present situation and in the near future. The most important aspects of two new European projects [1][2] are discussed. The main aim of the projects is to develop vendor-neutral certificates in selected areas of ICT and to prepare educational materials to help achieve knowledge and skills necessary to pass the certification exams.
