The paper describes an experiment conducted in the academic environment with participation of students from Gdańsk University of Technology. The aim of the experiment was to compare two review techniques: inspection based on the UML-HAZOP method and a non-structured review. Effectiveness and efficiency of both methods were measured and compared. The paper presents the schedule, realisation and results of the experiment. An introduction to reviews and inspections as well as a brief description of the UML-HAZOP method are also included.
