The role of the grain size of the chromic ore in the sodium chromate production with chromic mud recycling was studied. Raw material consumption, amounts of waste and the process efficiency were determined. It was shown that a decrease in the chromic ore grain size was more essential than the content of chromium in raw materials. The decrease in the grain size of chromic ore led to the decrease in raw material consumption and the amounts of disposed chromic waste, thus increasing the process efficiency and productivity.
