Przedstawiono najważniejsze przedsięwzięcia, jakie zostały podjęte w celu usunięcia skutków awarii skarpy i stworzenia możliwości późniejszej, bezpiecznej eksploatacji elektrowni szczytowo-pompowej w Dychowie.

Till the time of beginning the building of the by-channel the highwater flows greater than 1700 cub.m./s caused damages and destruction. The building of that channel will make possible passing through Opole of flows of the values up to 2700 cub.m./s without causing any danger for the town. The indispensable condition for achievement of that effect is creation of possibility for further run-off of flood waters without damming on the area of the town. Achievement of that purpose requires improvement of configuration of the river bed of the Oder down-stream of Opole. There should be also carried out works necessary to protect the ring road of the town and villages adjacent to the polder Zelazna.
