Studies on the electrochemical properties and the coagulation stability of acrylates polyelectrolytes

This work shows the tests of electrochemical properties and the coagulation stability of water solutions of the polyelectrolytes, which were the copolymers of acrylic or metacrylic acid with acrylic or metacrylic amide. We determined: equivalent conductivity, limiting viscosity number, degree and constants of the molecule association, polarization value and anode potential. We examined behaviors of the poly-electrolyte solutions during the electrophoretic process, which were carried out with different voltage values. We found the relations which results from the charge transfer through the polyelectrolyte solution. Performed with water solution of ferric nitrate, the coagulation tests confirmed destruction of the associated molecules of the polyelectrolyte during the current passage and also creation of the micelle structures with non-ionic olygomers.
