W dniu 12 lipca br. odbyło się w Sejmie RP pierwsze czytanie ustawy o ustanowieniu wieloletniego programu „Program dla Odry 2006". W artykule przedstawiono genezę jego powstania oraz omówiono główne cele i wynikające z nich zadania. Istotne znaczenie dla powstania i realizacji „Program..." ma współpraca międzynarodowa. Omówiono sprawy związane z kosztami realizacji „Program..." wraz z propozycjami źródeł jego finansowania oraz przedstawiono ważniejsze uwarunkowania jego wdrożenia.

On 12 July in Polish Parliament took place the first reading of the act on establishment of the multiyear programme ,,The Programme for the Oder 2006". The paper presents the origin of the creation of that act and discusses the main purposes of the document and connected with them tasks. The international cooperation is of crucial importance for creation and implementation of the ,,Programme...". The paper discusses also matters connected with the cost of realization of the Programme including proposals for sources of financing and presents main problems which condition its realization.
