W artykule przeanalizowano niektóre dotychczasowe osiągnięcia w zakresie badań nad przebiciem elektrycznym w cieczach i gazach, a także wyniki badań doświadczalnych i teoretycznych procesu obróbki elektroerozyjnej. Zwrócono uwagę na emisję elektronów z powierzchni katody i na strukturę strimerów towarzyszących powstawaniu plazmowego kanału wyładowania elektrycznego. Opracowano i zestawiono wnioski przydatne do badań teoretyczno-doświadczalnych procesu erozji elektrycznej w warunkach obróbki elektroerozyjnej (EDM).

This paper presents an analysis of some results of researches on the electrical breakdown in liquids and in gases. The results of both theoretical and experimental investigations of the EDM process have been described and analysed as well. The attention was drawn to the electrons' emission from the cathode surface and to the structures of the streamers concomitant of the development of the plasma channel of the electrical discharge. This report also contains a series of listed conclusions which may be advantageous to theoretical and experimental studies of the electrical erosion process going under the EDM conditions.
