Efficiency comparison of total least squares regression methods using Monte Carlo technique

Abstrakty
Structure of the calibration model of a relationship between the measured quantity y, called a signal (electric current, potential etc.) or an output quantity and the quantity x called a mesurand or an input quantity (temperature, pressure etc.) is identical to the task of building up a regression model. This paper reviews the regression techniques for the case of errors in both variables (they are called: total least squares regression - TLS). The advantages and limitations of the different algorithms are discussed. The accuracy of the formulae for calculation the slope and intercept coefficients and their uncertainties was confirmed using numerical simulations. Monte Carlo simulation is recommended for testing assumption of TLS and their algorithms.
Do testowania algorytmów TLS autor proponuje metodę Monte Carlo.
