Surface coatings protection is one to the most important processes ensuring efficient and economic use of given materials. Coatings are applied on original material surface and they have usually different chemical composition and structure than the basic material. Numerous methods of coating applications comprise also explosive bonding [1, 2]. Explosive bonding belongs to the group of pressure welding. Application of coatings on materials by explosion lately became a frequently used method since it brings many advantages. One of them is achievement of high strength, resistance to abrasion and corrosion, or toughness in the applied surface layer of material, while at the same time the whole product need not be made from this material. Use of this method significantly reduces costs of material and makes it possible to bond together of material types, which can be otherwise joined with great difficulties, or which cannot be bonded together at all (e.g. Ti - steel and others) [1-4]. Almost all metals can be bonded by explosive bonding. In our case two anticorrosive materials (steel CrNi18/10 and Ti) are used. The final product made with our study materials will be applied in the chemical industry and in the environment with two different corrosive mediums. The experimental works were focused on investigation of micro-structure and mechanical properties after explosion bonding and after followed heat treatment (HT). Investigation of micro-structure using methods of the light microscopy was completed with micro-hardness tests. The (HT) had the following course: Annealing temperature at 600 0C. Dwell was 1.5 h at the isothermal temperature with subsequent cooling on the air. By explosion samples of material related in primary state were marked S-IS and after the HT as S-HT.
