Przedstawiono architekturę systemu umożliwiającego wykorzystanie ontologii w urządzeniach mobilnych, opracowaną w ramach projektu 6FP STREP MIDAS (Middleware platform for Developing Advanced mobile Services). Architektura umożliwia wykorzystanie ontologii jako modelu domeny oraz reprezentację informacji przechowywanych w systemie zgodnie z semantyką zawartą w tej ontologii. Zaproponowana reprezentacja umożliwia przeprowadzenie wnioskowania na podstawie posiadanych danych. W projekcie MIDAS założono, że całość przetwarzania ontologii odbywa się w urządzeniu mobilnym, bez konieczność korzystania z usług dedykowanego serwera, co umożliwia zastosowanie proponowanego rozwiązania w sieciach bezprzewodowych o ograniczonym dostępie do infrastruktury.

This paper presents an architecture of a systemwhich makes it possible to use ontologies on mobile devices, which was created as of the 6FP STREP MIDAS project. The architecture makes it possible to use ontologies as a domain model and to structure information stored in the system according to the semantics contained in the ontology.having information structured in this way, it is possible perform reasoning based on available data. One of the assumptions of the MIDAS project was that processing ontologies will be performed only on a mobile device, without the need to use the services of a dedicated server, which makes it possible to apply the proposed solution in wirelessnetworks with limited access to the infrastructure.
