In 1997 the ASTM Standard E 1921-97 was published. It was titled „Determination of Reference Temperature, T0, for Ferritic Steels in the Transition Range” [1]. It was several times updated [2] The application of ASTM E 1921-97 is restricted to ferritic steels from the yield strength range 275 MPa to 825 MPa. The reference temperature, T0, also called the transition temperature, can be computed using the procedure given in Standard.
