Abstrakty

The members of a building are joined through connections. The type of connection and the manner in which force in the members leads to the production of various structural systems in buildings are from among the main topics in the design and implementation of structures. In recent decades, considering the rapid development of modern technologies in other disciplines, the building industry has experienced a relatively slower growth for various reasons including the strength of materials and executive problems and the determining innovations and inventions. Thus, in the building industry, the demands for larger spans or greater numbers of levels along with the ever- increasing demand for new and varied functions or innovative architectural designs are always restricted by some limitations. Therefore, the construc- tion of modern mega structures or industrial buildings along with the hot issues concerning the economy of the design or the benchmarking or optimi- zation of structural members and new structural systems have always attracted the attention of those interested in the realm.
