Abstrakty
One of the possibilities how to increase the effectiveness of power generation equipment is to reduce the weight of components with rotary or reversible motion. In the past ten years considerable progress has been made in the technology of preparing alloys based on the gamma - TiAl intermetallic phase. The constribution of the above alloys to the applications in power generation equipment is mainly their low density, high melting point, resistance to oxidation & corrosion and remarkable high-temperature strength.
