Opisano zagadnienia dotyczące transportu sygnałów z protokołem Ethernet w sieciach optycznych wykorzystujących technikę SDH i DWDM. Opisano zasady przesyłania sygnałów ethernetowych z wykorzystaniem techniki SDH oraz DWDM stosowane w urządzeniach teletransmisyjnych firmy Lucent Technologies. Opisano w skrócie każde z tych urządzeń oraz podano przykłady zastosowania ich w sieci służącej do transportu sygnałów Ethernetu gigabitowego. Oprócz tego w skrócie omówiono powstające koncepcje realizacji sieci transportowej przyszłości mające znaczenie dla sieci Ethernet LAN/WAN.

This article describes problems of transport of Ethernet signals in optical networks, using SDH and DWDM techniques. Techniques used by Lucent Technologies for Ethernet signals adaptation for transport in such net-works are presented. The article gives a short description of the Lucent's SDH and DWDM equipment, capable to transport Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet signals, and brings some examples of applications in the net-work. Moreover the article discusses new concepts and standardisation works concerning Gigabit Ethernet MAN/WAN networks and optical transport networks.
