Technology and installation limiting the risk of food pollution and contamination

Abstrakty
A new technology and a special installation allowing for effective protection against pest feeding and both biological and chemical contaminations in food (cereal grain) assigned for processing, commercial traffic, storage in store-houses in processing plants and household granaries have been presented. A possibility of cereal pest elimination from grain mass by applying high voltage electrical stimulation (HVES) has been proved experimentally. Effective parameters of HVES have been determined and confirmed as follows: applied voltage U =< 350 V, time of HVES t =< 120 s, current frequency f =< 50 Hz, amperage I =< 0.8 A, sinusoid saturation V =< 65% and the course of impulses - sinusoidal. It was also confirmed that HVES technique is friendly for the environment. The proposed industrial installation allowing for elimination of pest feeding and both biological and chemical contaminations in food can be applied in agriculture and food industry.
