Estimations of hydraulic losses,as well as quantitative and qualitative nalysis of encrustations,were carried out to find the contributory causes for the unproper functioning of the warm-water plumbing.The study led to thefollowing findings : (1) Oxygen cells that formed in the damaged parts of the zinc insulation were the main contributor to the corrosion-induced damage of the pipes.(2) Pipe encrustation ( iron and calcium) was accounted for by corrosion phenomena and undesirable water composition.(3) The said phenomena increased the roughness of the pipes,thus deteriorating the hydraulic efficiency of the warm-water plumbing system.
