A variety of effects provoked by the presence of hydrogen in materials used in complex conditions of mechanical loading, heat burden and corrosion require the application of many modern research methods. For this purpose, fractographic methods may be particularly useful, especially quantitative characteristics of fracture surfaces. The paper presents the results of studies concerning the mechanical and fractographical investigations of 2205 duplex stainless steel after hydrogen charging. It has been proved that the quantitative evaluation of hydrogen cracking phenomenon is possible thanks to a set of quantitative fractography parameters, which comprises fracture linear roughness, overlap coefficient and the phase dominance factor.
Różnorodność zjawisk prowokowanych obecnością wodoru w materiałach stosowanych w warunkach złożonych obciążeń mechanicznych, cieplnych i korozyjnych wymaga zastosowania wielu nowoczesnych metod badawczych.
