Artykuł dotyczy ważnych aktualnie problemów związanych z reformą górnictwa. Stanowi istotną pomoc dla zarządów likwidowanych kopalń w przygotowaniu procesu ich likwidacji. W rozdziale pierwszym autorzy opisali przebieg dotychczasowego procesu likwidacji kopalń w latach 1991-1997, skupiając się szczególnie na przedstawieniu zakresu rzeczowego likwidacji kopalń oraz kosztów związanych z procesem likwidacji, W rozdziale drugim przedstawiono proces fizycznej likwidacji kopalń w latach 1998-2002 według programu reformy górnictwa. Opisano algorytm podejmowania decyzji o likwidacji kopalń, a także podano, jakie dokumenty są niezbędne, aby proces likwidacji przebiegał prawidłowo. W rozdziale trzecim przedstawiono proces finansowania likwidacji kopalń, z zaakcento-waniem, że do roku 2002 proces ten finansowany będzie ze środków budżetowych, a po tym terminie częściowo ze środków budżetowych, a częściowo z funduszu likwidacji kopalń- Na koniec omówiono przebieg i koszty realizacji programu likwidacji w okresie ośmiu miesięcy 1998 r.

The article regards currently important problems connected with coal industry's reform. It constitutes assistance for management boards of mines under closure in preparation of the process of mines liquidation. In the first section the authors described the course of the up to date mines closure process in 1991 - 1997 concentrating in particular on presentation of matter of fact scope of mines closure and costs associated with liquidation process. In the second section physical process of mines liquidation was presented in 1998 -2002 according to the programme of coal industry's reform. The algorithm of decision taking was described on mines closure and necessary documents have been presented in order for the process to be run correctly. The third section presents financing process of mines closure with underlying that till 2002 the process will be financed from budgetary means and after that time it will be partially financed from budgetary and partially from the funds of the mine under closure. At the end the course and cost of realisation of the liquidation programme during eight months of 1998 have been discussed.
