W artykule omówiono przebieg i efekty reformy kolei w Szwecji. Zostały przedstawione poszczególne etapy zmian struktury organizacyjnej kolei, obejmujące podział organizacyjny kolei państwowych SJ, w tym wydzielenie zarządcy infrastruktury BV oraz usamodzielnienie i prywatyzację spółek przewozowych i utrzymaniowych. Przedstawiono także zmiany na rynku kolejowym, zachodzące pod wpływem liberalizacji przewozów towarowych i pasażerskich oraz nowe zasady i instytucje regulacji rynku.

The paper deals with the course of events and effects of the railway reform in Sweden. The consecutive steps in the changes of the railway organizational structure are described, beginning from the division of the former state owned railway company SJ into the infrastructure management entity and the rail operators and the partial privatization of the latter. Further, the changes in the railway market are presented, which took place alongside with the liberalization of the market. The article presents also the new rules and institutions of the rail market regulation.
