Abstrakty
Rheological characteristics of aqueous solutions of sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) were studied using a rotational cone-and-plate rheometer. Measurements of the shear stress and first normal stress difference were carried out for the range of the 9H4 type CMC solutions in the shear rate range of 0.2 to 3000 s-1. It was found that in the applied shear rate and the concentration of CMC solutions, elastic properties can predominate or be close to the viscous features. A modified model for shear characteristics of polymer solutions has been proposed and a tested procedure of deriving universal viscoelastic characteristics has been described.
