Tematem niniejszego artykułu jest nowo powstający system e-Nawigacji, który zgodnie z zamierzeniami ma być nie tylko narzędziem służącym do komunikacji i raportowania. Zgodnie z ostatnimi trendami e-Nawigacja prezentuje holistycznie podejście do zagadnień nawigacji i transportu morskiego, starając się łączyć wszystkie elementy w jedna spójną całość. Autor stara się przedstawić założenia i cele jakie przyświecają twórcom systemu, a zarazem pokazać różnice występujące pomiędzy obowiązującymi przepisami, stale rosnącymi potrzebami użytkowników, dostępnymi możliwościami technologicznymi, a stanem obecnym, skupiając się na informatycznych aspektach systemu e-Nawigacji.

The subject of this article is the emerging e-Navigation system, which as intended to be not only a tool for radio-communication and reporting. According to the latest trends e-Navigation presents a holistic approach to the issues of navigation and maritime transport, trying to combine different elements all together. The author attempts to present the assumptions and objectives of e-Navigation system, and also show differences between applicable laws, constantly increasing needs of users, the available technological capabilities, and the present situation, focusing on the IT aspects of the e-Navigation.
