The present study deals with the application of correlation analysis as an option for assessment of clinical data from diabetes mellitus type 2 patients. One hundred clinical cases of patients are considered as object of the statistical treatment, each one of them characterized by 34 various clinical parameters. The go al of the study was to find patterns of correlation between the clinical tests. Each group of correlated indices is interpreted revealing specific aspects of the data structure. Relevant explanation of the correlation is found based on the patterns of correlation for parameters determining glucose level, anthropometric data, enzyme level, liver function, kidney function etc. It is assumed that this correlation could be of help in optimizing the performance of clinical test for this type of patients and for designing a pattern for the role of the different groups of test in determining of the metabolic syndrome of the patients.

Zastosowano analizę korelacyjną jako metodę wspomagającą ocenę danych klinicznych pacjentów chorujących na cukrzycę typu 2. Badaniami objęto stu pacjentów, każdy z nich został scharakteryzowany za pomocą 34 różnych parametrów klinicznych. Celem badań było znalezienie struktur w korelacjach pomiędzy wynikami testów klinicznych. Każda skorelowana grupa pokazuje specyficzne aspekty struktur danych. Korelacje wyjaśniono na podstawie znalezionych struktur w korelacjach pomiędzy poziomem cukru we krwi, danymi antropometrycznymi, poziomem enzymów, funkcjami wątroby i nerek i in. Wydaje się, że korelacje te pomogą lepszemu wykorzystaniu testów klinicznych dla tego typu pacjentów oraz w projektowaniu grup testów do określania zespołów metabolicznych pacjentów.
