Literature data regarding stability of pesticides in the environment and analytical methodology arc presented. Additionally results of own research on pesticides, which were determined in the samples of precipitation collected in various regions are also included, An analysis of data is performed and the state of pollution of precipitation waters with pesticides in the years 1975-2001, in Europe and North America, is presented. It ensues from the data collected in Europe and in the world, that pesticides are everywhere. not only where people are. As a result of air transport, they reach the most remote places - the Bering and Chukchi Seas or the Bermudas. It also results from the analysed data that compounds from the pesticides group (organochlorine, organophosphorus and organonitrogen) and their metabolites occur in precipitation and in fog (at an increasing or decreasing rate, or oscillating around one value).

Zebrano i opracowano dane literaturowe dotyczące trwałości w środowisku, metodyki analitycznej i przede wszystkim wyników badań pestycydów występujących w próbkach opadów atmosferycznych zebranych w różnych regionach geograficznych. Przeprowadzono analizę danych i przedstawiono stan zanieczyszczenia wód opadowych pestycydami w okresie 1975-2001 na terenie Europy i Ameryki Północnej. Z zebranych danych wynika, że pestycydy występują wszędzie, a nie tylko tam gdzie są ludzie. W wyniku transportu powietrznego docierają do najbardziej oddalonych od upraw i przemysłu miejsc - Morze Czukockie, Morze Beringa czy Bermudy. Z przeanalizowanych danych wynika również, że związki z grupy pestycydów (chlorowcoorganicznych i fosforo- i azotoorganicznych) oraz ich metabolity występują w opadach atmosferycznych i we mgle (malejąco, wzrastająco lub oscylując wokół jednej wartości).
