EN

The risk is associated with a hazard and is a combination of the probability or frequency that a hazard will occur together with the consequences of that hazard. Consequences include the potential loss of life and costs of different economic, environmental and societal losses caused by failure of a structure. The paper deals with risk analysis and risk acceptance criteria in design of reinforced concrete structures. A combined approach to evaluation of the risks, based on the probabilistic and fuzzy methods, is discussed and recommended. The suggested approach is illustrated through a numerical example.
