The results of long-term measurements of temperature distribution in the ventilated space of multi-flue industrial reinforced conrete chimneys subjected to environmental and operational actions are presented. Three different chimneys were investigated (one 250 m high chimney and two 300 m chimneys). The obtained results revealed that the values and the shape of the temperature distribution along the height of the chimney is strongly dependent on the ratio of filling of the ventilated space and on the number and dimensions of various openings in the outer shell. Therefore the selection of design data should take into account also the results of full-scale measurements carried out on chimneys of comparable structural parameters.
