W artykule omówiono dwie metody (metodę konwencjonalną i DWSS) badań sztywności statycznej obrabiarek. Przedstawiono zakres przeprowadzonych badań i zamieszczono całościową analizę wyników otrzymanych podczas badań jedenastu tokarskich centrów karuzelowych typu KCL Obrabiarki badano w dwóch etapach. W pierwszym etapie badano w różnym zakresie siedem tokarek karuzelowych. W oparciu o zebrane doświadczenia zaproponowano tok postępowania podczas badań obrabiarek ciężkich. Drugi etap dotyczył czterech tokarek karuzelowych, które badano zgodnie z zaproponowaną metodyką.

The paper presents two major methods (the conventional method and the DDSS method) of investigation of machine tool stiffness. It shows the framework of the conducted research. The paper also contains the whole analysis of the results obtained during investigation of the eleven vertical lathes type KCI. There were two stages of the investigation. The first stage includes testing of different ranges on the seven vertical lathes. On the basis of the obtained results the way of investigation of the heavy machine tools was proposed. The second stage concerns four vertical lathes, which were tested in accordance with the proposed methodology.
