Stan graniczny użytkowania może się ujawniać w budowlanych konstrukcjach stalowych na skutek intensyfikacji oddziaływania czynników znacznie różniących się pod względem formy. W artykule przedstawiono jedną z tych form, z którą Autorzy zetnęli się w trakcie oceny aktualnego stanu technicznego baterii stalowych zbiorników cylindrycznych służących do magazynowania spirytusu surowego i wytwarzanych z niego napojów alkoholowych. Omówiono główne cechy tej formy stanu granicznego oraz program prac naprawczych.

The structure can show symptoms of serviceability limit state in various ways. It is liable to occur if the structure becomes useless for exploitation in agreement with the assumed conditions and/or limiations recommended by the operative regulations. Such an incapability does not result in a catastrophe and the structure can be used again after removal of the serviceability limit state reasons. Designers generally identify this limit state with exceeding the permissible displacements of the structure omitting other factors. As mentioned above the reasons of the serviceability limit state can be extremely different, e.g. inordinate corosion, if the structure is not in compliance with aesthetic (architectural) requirements or does not satisfy operative regulations etc., and often even unsafe than inordinate displacement. In the case of steel tanks intended for storage of valuable media, for example spirits, the limitation of the inordinate deformability of the structure during loading or unloading process can lead to some significant errors in the accuracy of actual liquid volume. The minimal differences between real and measured values recommended by operative regulation seem to be of great importance here. The considerations presented in the paper are illustrated by such a form of serviceability limit state which occured in the steel tanks.
