Abstrakty
The structure of fibers formed during spinning is the result of the processes of orientation and crystallization occurring by solidifying the polymer stream. The addition of nanoclay particles into sheared polymer melts complicates the crystallization process and the morphology that subsequently forms. In this study, nanocomposite fibers of isotactic polypropylene and an organically modified montmorillonite, Cloisite 15A, were formed from the melt at different take-up velocity. The supermolecular structure of composite fibers was determined by means of X-ray methods (WAXS and SAXS). The intensity changes of the crystallinity peaks and montmorillonite peak in the composite fibers are discussed.
