Działalność prewencyjna stanowi jedno z podstawowych zadań społecznego ubezpieczenia wypadkowego w krajach zachodnioeuropejskich. Na przykładzie Niemiec, Francji, Austrii i Szwajcarii, a także Polski przedstawiono rolę i zakres działań prewencyjnych realizowanych przez ubezpieczenie wypadkowe. Potwierdzenie ogromnej roli działalności prewencyjnej stanowi wielkość środków finansowych przeznaczanych na ten cel.

Prevention measures are among the basic tasks to be tackled in the social insurance systems in west European countries. The article discusses the examples of Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and Poland to present the role and scope of prevention measures taken in the framework of accident insurance systems. The great importance and the role of prevention measures are reflected in the amount of funding provided for that purpose.
