W artykule dokonano przeglądu badań nad związkiem niepewności pracy ze zdrowiem pracownika, z którego wynika, że niepewność pracy jest związana z niższym poziomem zdrowia psychicznego, częstszą depresją, niższą samooceną, mniejszym zadowoleniem z pracy oraz częstszymi przypadkami dysfunkcji w zakresie układu sercowo-naczyniowego, immunologicznego, a także mięśniowo-szkieletowego. Pierwsza część badań nad związkiem niepewności pracy ze zdrowiem wśród polskich pracowników miała na celu ustalenie społeczno-ekonomicznych korelatów NP w Polsce. Badania przeprowadzono na próbie reprezentatywnej pracujących Polaków (N = 377), zróżnicowanej ze względu na: wiek, płeć, wykształcenie, miejsce zamieszkania, region Polski, dochód na osobę, liczba osób w rodzinie, typ rodziny, grupa zawodowa. NP mierzona była jedną z podskal kwestionariusza Ashford i in. Wyniki wskazywały na brak wyraźnych zróżnicowań społecznych NP. Natomiast zmienną istotnie różnicującą okazało się korzystanie z Internetu (osoby korzystające z Internetu - mniej niepewne pracy).

The review of the studies on the relation between job insecurity (JI) and workers' health presented in this article shows that JI is related to lower mental well-being, higher depression, lower self-esteem, lower job satisfaction, as well as more frequent cases of cardio-vascular, musculoskeletal and immunological dysfunctions. The first part of the study on the relation between JI and health among Polish workers, which is presented in the second part of this article, aimed to describe the socio-economic variables that correlated with JI in Poland. The study was carried out on a representative sample of Polish workers (N = 377) differentiated according to age, gender, education, place of living, region of Poland, family characteristics and occupation. JI was measured by a sub-scale derived from the Job Insecurity Scale by Asford et al. The results of the analysis of variance did not show any significant variability of JI depending on social factors. However, it was found that JI significantly correlated with the use of the Internet: respondents who use it have lower JI than those who do not.
