Dermalne narażenie zawodowe na szkodliwe substancje chemiczne stanowi zauważalny problem dla wielu grup zawodowych w rolnictwie, przemyśle oraz w sektorze usług. Ocena zawodowego narażenia dermalnego jest jednym z elementów oceny ryzyka związanego ze stosowaniem czynników chemicznych w pracy. Jest ona bardzo istotna z uwagi na skutki tego narażenia, które mogą mieć charakter miejscowy i/lub układowy. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie głównych założeń dotyczących oceny narażenia dermalnego na substancje chemiczne. W artykule omówiono mechanizmy wchłaniania przez skórę oraz czynniki wpływające na dermalną absorpcję substancji chemicznych. Przedstawiono definicję narażenia dermalnego oraz zasady klasyfikacji i oznakowania substancji wchłanianych przez skórę. Zaprezentowano także zasady i metody pomiaru niezbędne do oceny zawodowego narażenia dermalnego.

Dermal occupational exposure to harmful chemical substances is a significant problem for many employees in agriculture, industry and services. Assessment of dermal exposure is an element of an assessment of occupational exposure to chemical substances. This assessment is important because dermal contamination can induce local and/or system responses. The aim of this article is to draw attention to the principles of assessing dermal exposure. It discusses skin absorption, some factors that influence dermal exposure and absorption, a definition of dermal exposure, and regulations of classification and notification. This article also provides information on the principles and methods of measuring dermal exposure in the workplace.
