Katastrofa elektrowni nuklearnej Fukushima Dai-ichi, w marcu 2011 roku, wstrząsnęła światem. Była to największa z trzech katastrof, jakie wydarzyły się dotychczas w elektrowniach jądrowych. Katastrofę zapoczątkowało trzęsienie ziemi o skali 9,0. Znacznie groźniejsze okazało się jednak tsunami, które zalało elektrownię po trzęsieniu ziemi. W artykule omówiono walkę z żywiołem oraz niektóre błędy popełnione przy budowie elektrowni oraz w czasie jej ratowania.
