W artykule, opartym o analizę translacyjną z czasopisma Modern Casting zawarto opis dwóch zagadnień, dotyczących branży odlewniczej. W pierwszej części szczegółowo omówiono Ustawę o Odnowie Gospodarki i Reinwestycjach (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act), uchwaloną przez Kongres i podpisaną przez prezydenta USA, która z założenia ma m.in. zapobiec rozwojowi niekorzystnego scenariusza spadku produkcji odlewniczej na rynku amerykańskim. W drugiej części artykułu zawarto uaktualnione prognozy produkcji odlewów na świecie, uwzględniające już odczuwalne skutki światowej recesji gospodarczej. Rozważania prognostyczne zawierają stabelaryzowane dane oraz wykresy zmian wielkości produkcji w wybranych krajach świata dla różnych tworzyw odlewniczych.

The paper, based on translation from the journal Modern Casting, provides information on two problems concerning the foundry engineering sector. Detailed information on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act are given in the first part. This Act voted by the Congress and signed by the US President, is hoped to prevent the development of an unfavourable scenario of decreasing the casting production at the American market. The second part of the paper provides the actualised prognosis of casting production in the world with taking into account the already being felt effects of the world economic recess. Prognosis considerations contain the tabularised data and graphs of changes in the production capacity in selected countries for various casting types.
