W formie reminiscencji z podróży Autor przedstawia wybrane aspekty działalności dwóch zaoceanicznych stowarzyszeń: Amerykańskiego Stowarzyszenia Odlewników (AFS) oraz Stowarzyszenia Materiałoznawczego ASM International, The Materials Information Society. W początkowej części artykułu dzieli się z Czytelnikiem dywagacjami, dotyczącymi prognozowania produkcji i sprzedaży odlewów w świecie i samych Stanach Zjednoczonych a obliczu zapowiedzianej korekty w wykonaniu firmy Strarecast Inc., od wielu lat corocznie wykonującej prace statystyczno-prognostyczne z zakresu rozwoju branży odlewniczej.

The Author presents - in a form of journey reminiscences - some aspects of activities of two associations: American Foundrymen Society (AFS) and the Materials Information Society (MIS). In the first part of the paper he shares with the Readers the opinions concerning prognosis of production and sale of castings in the whole world as well as in the United States alone. It is done in view of the already announced corrections of the Strarecast Inc. Company, which - from many years - provides annually statistical and prognostic calculations relevant for the development of the foundry sector.
