W wielu firmach wdrażanie systemu zarządzania jakością (SZJ) sprowadza się do opisania bieżącej sytuacji i wdrożeniu brakujących elementów, a obszar doskonalenia i optymalizacji procesów odsuwa się w czasie. Prawie wszyscy menedżerowie w auditowanych przez Autorkę firmach byli zgodni, że powinno się przeprowadzać usprawnienia procesów i że przynosi to wymierne korzyści; zapewniali, że się tym zajmą, lecz najpierw muszą ratować budżet, plan sprzedaży, obniżyć koszty produkcji itp. Podstawową cechą zarządzania procesowego jest to, że nie daje ono efektów natychmiastowych.
Implantation of the system of quality management is in many firms reduced to the description of the actual situation and implantation of missing elements, and the problems of improvement and optimization moves away in time.
