Changes in Transport Infrastructure of Baltic Countries in Consequence of European Union Integration

Abstrakty
Pojęcie "kraje nadbałtyckie" przyjęło się powszechnie jako określenie trzech państw - Litwy, Łotwy oraz Estonii. Kraje te wdrożyły aktywną politykę dostosowania infrastruktury komunikacyjnej do wymogów Unii Europejskiej w zakresie wszystkich typów transportu, tj. komunikacji kołowej, morskiej oraz lotniczej. Kraje nadbałtyckie odeszły również od tradycyjnego monopolu państwa w zarządzaniu infrastrukturą do modelu pełnej konkurencji. Przeprowadziły proces decentralizacji, którego celem było podniesienie jakości świadczonych usług, wywołanie konkurencji oraz utworzenie sieci połączeń z Europą Zachodnią. W artykule autor szeroko omawia te zmiany oraz wskazuje źródła ich finansowania.
