Przedstawiono przebieg tegorocznych 74. Międzynarodowych Targów Poznańskich, które już po raz trzeci realizowano w nowej formule. Otwarcia targów dokonał Prezydent RP Aleksander Kwaśniewski, a minister gospodarki Jacek Piechota podkreślił, że stanowią one strategiczny instrument kreacji i promocji gospodarki, które mogą przynosić wymierne i szybkie korzyści. W trakcie Targów wszyscy zaprezentowali najnowsze techniki i technologie w najważniejszych dziedzinach przemysłu oraz przedstawili trendy ich rozwoju. W 12 salonach tematycznych na powierzchni blisko 18.000 m2 z ofertą prawie 1.100 wystawców i firm zaprezentowanych z 32 państw i terytoriów zapoznało się ponad 14.500 zwiedzających. W najbliższym, nam pod względem tematyki salonie METALFORTJM przedstawiono problemy zastosowania nowoczesnych odlewów, dzięki którym urządzenia i maszyny stają się bardziej konkurencyjne.

The course of this year's 74th International Poznań Fair, which for the third time was realised in a new formula, is presented. The opening of the Fair was performed by the President of the Polish Republic Aleksander Kwaśniewski, and the Minister of Economy Jacek Piechota stressed that the Fair makes one strategy instrument of creating and promoting such economy, which can bring measurable and quick advantages. During the Fair everybody showed the most modem techniques and technologies in the most important industrial domains and presented the trends of their development. The 12 theme saloons, covering the surface of nearly 18 000 m2, with the offers of almost 1.100 exhibitors and firms from 32 countries and territories were visited by over 14.500 guests, hi the METALFORUM saloon, which is the nearest to us concerning its subject matter, the problems of the application of modem castings, owing to which installations and machines have become more competitive, were presented.
