W artykule zasygnalizowano postęp w zakresie metod Rapid Prototyping i Rapid Tooling. Postęp ten dotyczy tak tworzyw stosowanych na wytwarzane części, jak i wymiarów tych części oraz metod ich szybkiego uzyskiwania. Na szczególną uwagę zasługuje wprowadzona w 1999 r. metoda bezpośredniego żłobienia w masie formierskiej (Direktes Formstoff-Fräsen).

The article deals with the progress in the methods of Rapid Prototyping and Rapid Tooling. This progress concerns both the materials used for the manufactured parts, dimensions of these parts, and the methods of their rapid production. Among these methods the method of the direct milling in the moulding sand (Direktes Formstoff-Fräsen) introduced in the year 1999 is worthy of being specially mentioned.
