Existence of surface waves in a nonhomogeneous elastic half-space was shown in the paper on the bases of the stress elastodynamics formulation. Kato's analytical perturbation theory was applied to demonstrate that in the velocity and amplitude of a stress surface wave propagating in a nonhomogeneous anisotropic elastic half-space is an analytic function of the wave number.
