Abstrakty
Jedną z dziedzin polskiego odlewnictwa są odlewy artystyczne. Zdobią one nie tylko nasz kraj, lecz także znajdują odbiorców zagranicą. W pracowni artysty rzeźbiarza Karola Badyny zostały zaprojektowane i odlane pomniki Jana Karskiego, legendarnego kuriera AK, a w latach powojennych wykładowcy na Uniwersytecie Georgetown, i Artura Rubinsteina, światowej sławy wirtuoza. Posługując się opracowaną w Instytucie Odlewnictwa w Krakowie technologią uzyskano odlewy pozbawione wad powierzchniowych i o żądanej grubości ścianki. Zamawiającym była strona amerykańska i Ministerstwo Spraw Zagranicznych R P. Pomnik Jana Karskiego usytuowano na terenie Uniwersytetu Georgetown w Waszyngtonie, a pomnik Artura Rubinsteina ozdabia siedzibę Organizacji Narodów Zjednoczonych w Nowym Jorku.
One of the domain of the Polish foundry practice are decorative and art castings. They not only decorate our country, but also find customers abroad. In the studio of the artist-sculptor Karol Badyna monuments to Jan Karski, the legendary courrier of the Home Army and in the post war years the lecturer at the Georgetown University, and to Arthur Rubinstein, the world famous virtuoso were designed and cast. Applying the technology elaborated at the Foundry Institute in Kraków castings without any surface defects and with the required wall thickness were obtained. The customer was the American Party toggether with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ofd the Republic of Poland. The monument to Jan Karski has been located on the premises of the Georgetown University, while the monument to Arthur Rubinstein decorates the headquarters of the United Nations Organisation in New York.
