The significance of pores in high temperature oxidation of titanium and Ti-3Cu alloy
Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
The results of testing of corrosion products formed on titanium and Ti-3Cu alloy in air, at temperature from 650°C to 1200°C are presented. The lattice diffusion is a main process, but forming the multiphase and multilayer scale changes the kinetics of oxidation, because of scale porosity. It was ascertained, that at temperatures from 950°C the generated pores enable both in-core and off core mass transport which is responsible for increasing the oxidation rate.
