W artykule przedstawiono syntetyczny obraz rynku elektroenergetycznego ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem węgla brunatnego. Analizowano powiązania węgla brunatnego z sektorem elektroenergetycznym. Podano w jakim stanie zmian znajduje się w chwili obecnej, zwracając uwagę na kontrakty długoterminowe, które muszą ulec likwidacji. Zwrócono uwagę na modelowe rozwiązanie wolnego rynku energii elektrycznej, a także zaprezentowano prawdopodobny schemat dwu grup kapitałowych opartych na węglu brunatnym. Podkreślono potrzebę i propozycję integracji wewnątrz obu grup.

A synthetic picture of the electropower market with a particular regard to brown coal. The connection between brown coal and the electropower industrial section as well as the position of brown coal at the production of electrical power have been taken into account. Its present condition of changes is discussed while paying attention to the long-term contracts that must be liquidated. Particular attention has been given to the model solution of the free electric power market as well as a probable scheme of the two capital groups based on brown coal have been suggested. A necessity and suggestions of the integration inside both groups have been emphasized. For the restructurization processes further vertical consolidation in the subsector is assumed, i.e. closer capital ties between mines and electric power plants. The paper concerns detailed solutions of the problem. It shows the starting point for the predicted changes, i.e. it analyses the present structure of active capital groups and the concept of internal restructurization changes. It emphasizes both these factors which are useful and the factors whose solution is indispensable. The useful factors include the successful results of the subsector and considerable consolidation. The non-useful factors are, on the other hand, the present errors made in the course of privatization of the electric power plant PAK and the possible necessity of the establishment of the transfer prices between mines and electric power plants.
