EN

The most important statistic information about Polish tourism between 1993 and 2006 was put in this article. It shows: - foreigners` arrivals to Poland from boundary and other countries, - quantity of accommodation and gastronomy facilities, - density of roads in selected countries, - foreign tourism balance implied as a result of subtracting income of foreign tourists staying in Poland from expenditures of Poles on foreign travels. From this data, it can be concluded that the amount of foreigners arriving to Poland de-creased from over 89 mln in 1999 to about 62 mln in 2004. The number of foreign tourists visiting Poland decreased by 4 mln, from 19.215 thousands in 1995 to 15.200 thousands in 2005. This negative tendency could be caused among other things by: - declining Dollar, Euro and other currencies in relation to Polish złoty, - bad condition of accommodation and gastronomy facilities in Poland - capricious weather in last years, both in summer and winter season; - weakly developed road system.
