The microstructure of creep tested CM186LC Ni-base single crystal alloy was studied to assess its suitability for use in the gas turbine environment. Creep tests were conducted at 750 degrees C and at stresses 560 and 675 MPa up to 11440 h. Microstructure of fractured and terminated specimens was investigated in detail. TEM microstructural analysis revealed dislocations in gamma channels piled-up mainly at the gamma/gamma' interfaces. Beside dislocations in gamma channels, shearing of gamma' particles by partial dislocations separated by stacking faults was observed.
