Abstrakty
Equal channel angular extrusion method has been used to deform A1MgSi alloy in the range of true strain epsilon = 1.15 - 4.62. The influence of the total strain on structure and properties was studied by light and transmission electron microscopes and hardness measurement. Increasing of the strains led to refinement of structure and raised properties. Structure during deformation was changed from the band structure with high density of dislocations to almost equiaxed nanograins with high-angle boundaries. The hardness changed insignificantly after each pass. The achieved results suggest that subsequent deformation could be the cause of the formation of new nanograins in the whole volume leading to improved ductility properties.
