EN

Low energy mechanical alloying processes performed for Fe50Al50 and Fe25Al75 powder mixtures resulted in the formation of bcc Fe(Al) solid solution and amorphous phase, respectively. Fe(Al) phase was characterized by lattice parameter 0.2935 nm and crystallite size about 5 nm. Upon heating this phase transformed into ordered FeAl intermetallic compound. Heating of amorphous alloy led to its crystallization and Fe2Al5 phase appeared.
