Computer programme for the calculation of the hardenability of steel on the basis of the chemical composition and austenite grain size using the Grossmann's method was developed. This programme enables to calculate the ideal critical diameter Di cal, the critical diameter D cr. The Jominy curve and the hardness distribution across the section of the steel bar of diameter, d, for various quenching media.
