Abstrakty
A close relation between the gamma/b stress and two types of twin-dislocation interaction in face centered cubic crystals was found. The interaction between a growing twin and a substructure of perfect dislocations leads to the load drop (LD) twinning, which is to occur, if the gamma/b stress is satisfied on the habit plane only. The interaction between a growing twin and a substructure dominated by imperfect dislocations leads to the no load drop (NLD) twinning, but now, the gamma/b stress must be satisfied on the habit plane and on any other, non-habit, close packed plane of crystal lattice. It is also suggested, that a mechanism of the incorporation of imperfect dislocation into a growing twin basis on an imperfect-perfect dislocation conversion.
